What happened

Belle Corp reported its Q2 share of gaming revenue from City of Dreams Manila at PHP467.2 million (approximately USD7.6 million), up 37.5 percent year-on-year. The result was filed directly with the Philippine Stock Exchange. Belle holds a revenue-sharing interest in the CoD Manila casino operation run by Melco Resorts. This number reflects Belle's slice, not total CoD Manila revenue, so the underlying property performance is materially larger.

This Q2 print follows City of Dreams Manila's reported H1 market share gain of 23 percent, reported the prior week. Two consecutive data points now confirm the same directional story: CoD Manila is taking share in a quarter when PAGCOR's aggregate gaming revenue figures declined.

Why it matters

Sources: GGRAsia

  1. City of Dreams outperforms while peers bleed VIPBelle Corp's 23% gaming share gain at City of Dreams Manila in H1 2026 is a meaningful outlier in a market where Okada posted a 15% GGR decline and PAGCOR's overall numbers collapsed. City of Dreams running counter to sector weakness suggests mass and mass-premium segment execution is the differentiator, not VIP recovery. For competitors, this is the competitive benchmark: the integrated resort model that holds revenue in a VIP downturn is one built on diversified floor mix and non-junket player acquisition, which is where capex allocation decisions should be pointing now.Market
  2. Okada pivots to mass market after dragging UEC resultsOkada Manila underperforming badly enough to drag down Universal Entertainment Corp's Q2 2026 group results, and now pivoting explicitly to mass market and online gaming, is a competitive signal, not just an earnings story. City of Dreams Manila has already demonstrated two consecutive quarters of mass-market share gains while VIP-dependent operators contracted, so Okada's pivot follows a playbook that a competitor has already validated and is running ahead of them. For Philippine operators and investors, the question is execution speed: Okada is a large physical property reconfiguring its floor and channel mix under fiscal pressure, and late movers in mass-market repositioning have consistently underperformed peers who made the shift earlier.Market · Philippines
  3. Newport profit doubles; mass beats VIP againNewport World Resorts doubling attributable net income to PHP568 million in H1 2026, with EBITDA up 13% and revenue at US$247 million, is the third consecutive data point confirming the same thesis: Philippine integrated resort operators running mass and online GGR are growing while VIP-dependent peers contract. Newport's result lands alongside City of Dreams' two-quarter streak of share gains and directly ahead of Okada's explicit pivot away from VIP. For any operator or investor still waiting to see whether mass-market repositioning is a real trend or a one-quarter anomaly, the answer is now in three sets of numbers. Capital allocation decisions that have not moved toward mass-floor quality and online GGR diversification are now operating against a validated and widening competitive gap.Market · Philippines
