What happened

Bitget confirmed on or around September 24, 2026 that unauthorized transfers totaling $352 million were made from a limited number of its hot wallets. The exchange suspended withdrawals following the confirmation. Bitget stated that cold wallets and the majority of platform assets were not affected by the breach.

The breach is not speculative. Bitget has publicly confirmed the event, which moves this from rumor to a material operational and counterparty risk fact for any business with funds on the platform or using Bitget as a payment or treasury rail.
