What happened

International Entertainment Corp (IEC), the Hong Kong-listed company behind LaVie Resort and Casino in Manila, has announced it will launch a self-run iGaming platform within the coming month from the time of publication (October 31, 2026). The platform will cover three product verticals: remote gaming, online casino games, and sports betting.

The key word is self-run. IEC is not white-labeling a third-party platform or signing a revenue-share deal with a B2B supplier. It is building and operating the platform itself, which means it owns the technology stack, the compliance obligations, and the player acquisition function directly.

  1. IEC posts 61% gaming revenue rise, online launch imminentInternational Entertainment Corp growing gaming revenue 61% year-on-year at Manila Bay's LaVie casino while simultaneously preparing to launch an online gaming business is the most consequential Philippine operator move this week. The widened US$62 million net loss is a cost-structure story, not a demand story: revenue is clearly responding to the LaVie expansion, and online is the next lever.…Market · Philippines
  2. Tabcorp buys BetMakers for £140m: Australian wagering consolidatesTabcorp acquiring BetMakers for £140 million is a platform consolidation move, bringing wagering technology in-house rather than continuing to depend on external supply. The deal is lower-urgency for Philippine operators today, but it is a directional signal: large incumbents with aging infrastructure are choosing acquisition over build, and BetMakers had been positioning as a B2B wagering platform supplier to multiple markets. For APAC racing and wagering operators evaluating B2B platform relationships, a supplier absorbed into a competitor's infrastructure is a relationship that warrants a reassessment of roadmap commitments and service continuity.Market · Australia
  3. Okada Play passes PHP100 million in October gaming revenueOkada Play surpassed PHP100 million in gross gaming revenue in October, recording its best month since launch and an increase of circa 50 percent month-on-month, GGRAsia reported. The figures came from a joint statement by Okada Manila and PhilWeb Corp, the business-to-business service provider supporting the online platform, according to GGRAsia. Daily active users exceeded 100,000 in October, with Okada Manila president and chief operating officer Nobuki Sato describing both milestones as progress within six months of launch. The platform runs on PhilWeb’s Online Gaming Platform solution and offers more than 4,000 gaming titles from over 20 content providers, according to the companies’ update. PhilWeb also handles content aggregation, technical infrastructure and customer service for the brand, while both companies hold Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation licences, Asia Gaming Brief reported. The companies plan more spending on player acquisition, game content and engagement campaigns as the platform enters its next growth phase, according to Asia Gaming Brief. PhilWeb expects platforms it operates for other partner brands could also reach PHP100 million in monthly GGR before the end of 2026, the reports said.Market · Philippines
