What happened

Vietnam has set 15 November 2026 as the mandatory deadline for casinos to verify players through VNeID, the national digital identity system. VNeID is Vietnam's government-issued electronic ID platform, linked to the national population database managed by the Ministry of Public Security. From that date, casinos operating legally in Vietnam must use it as the basis for player identity checks.

The requirement applies to licensed casino operators in Vietnam. It is a regulatory mandate, not a voluntary adoption. The source is Asia Gaming Brief, published 29 October 2026, placing the deadline roughly two weeks from publication.
