Five Horror-Themed Games, Two More IPs for 2027: What DigiPlus’s Local Content Push Shows So Far.
DigiPlus has launched five games based on the Filipino horror franchise Shake, Rattle & Roll, and says two more local IPs are lined up for 2027. Here is what is confirmed, what the coverage leaves out, and what operators should check before copying the approach.

What happened
According to GGRAsia, ASEAN Gaming and the Manila Times (a newswire piece that reads like a partner release), the five games went live on BingoPlus on Thursday 22 October. They are titled Manananggal, Reyna Ahas, Triple Terror, LRT Monster and Aswang. They will be introduced in phases on ArenaPlus and GameZone, with no dates given.
Shake, Rattle & Roll is a horror film series whose first feature was released in 1984. Regal Entertainment president Roselle Monteverde said the collaboration "opens a new chapter for the franchise." DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco said it is meant to strengthen DigiPlus's content portfolio and deliver greater value to its audiences, per GGRAsia.
The wider plan. GGRAsia reports DigiPlus has secured rights to two more IPs for 2027, the first expected to produce at least nine games in the first quarter and the second to start rolling out in the second quarter. DigiPlus expects more than 30 localized games in 2026. Head of localisation Ray DeGuzman said of next year's output: "Maybe 60 games next year. We'll see." On method, he said: "The trick is taking the lore, the fiction or the history and then trying to come up with a game mechanic."
Where it sits. GGRAsia says slots will remain the focus of DigiPlus's localized content, at about 80% of development effort. It also mentions arcade-style games and a locally themed crash game expected in December. In March 2026, iGamingBusiness reported that DigiPlus announced nine games themed on boxer Manny Pacquiao, so celebrity and local branding is already part of its approach.
What is and is not confirmed
The game type is not stated. No outlet we read says whether the five titles are bingo, slots, arcade or something else. The fact that they launched on BingoPlus does not settle it.
The deal terms are not stated. The coverage calls Regal a partner and describes a collaboration. It does not give licence terms, fees or Regal's specific contribution beyond characters and creative legacy.
No performance data is reported. We found no figures on players, sessions or revenue for the new titles.
Mechanics are not described. We could not confirm whether the games involve real-money wagering, prizes or free play.
Why it matters
The signal is that DigiPlus is treating local IP as a pipeline and not a one-off. Two more rights deals for 2027, a target of more than 30 localized games this year and a stated aspiration of around 60 next year all point to volume. The Pacquiao series in March shows the approach is not new.
In our reading, the open question is what the content is for. Familiar characters can help a game stand out and may make it easier to talk about outside paid channels. They can also add engagement for existing players. DigiPlus has not said which it expects, and we have no data to say.
