What happened

BetMakers reported Q1 FY27 results showing EBITDA of AU$5.9 million, up 176.1% year-on-year. Revenue came in at AU$24.7 million, a 16.3% increase on the same quarter last year. The results cover the first quarter of FY27, reported on 29 October 2026.

The company is currently in the process of being acquired by Tabcorp, Australia's largest B2C wagering operator. BetMakers operates as a B2B betting technology provider, supplying infrastructure and platforms to operators across Australia and internationally.

  1. Tabcorp buys BetMakers for £140m: Australian wagering consolidatesTabcorp acquiring BetMakers for £140 million is a platform consolidation move, bringing wagering technology in-house rather than continuing to depend on external supply. The deal is lower-urgency for Philippine operators today, but it is a directional signal: large incumbents with aging infrastructure are choosing acquisition over build, and BetMakers had been positioning as a B2B wagering platform supplier to multiple markets. For APAC racing and wagering operators evaluating B2B platform relationships, a supplier absorbed into a competitor's infrastructure is a relationship that warrants a reassessment of roadmap commitments and service continuity.Market · Australia
  2. Fitch flags Tabcorp margin and debt pathFitch's positive read on Tabcorp's margin and debt trajectory is a mildly useful data point for the Australian wagering market but is lower-stakes than it appears. This is a ratings agency affirming a recovery narrative for a domestic incumbent, not a market-moving development.…Market · Australia
  3. LaVie's self-run iGaming platform launches next monthInternational Entertainment Corp, the Hong Kong-listed operator behind Manila's LaVie Resort and Casino, is launching a self-run iGaming platform within the coming month, covering remote gaming, online casino, and sports betting. A hotel-casino operator choosing to build and run its own platform rather than licensing a turnkey solution is a meaningful operational commitment: it implies direct exposure to technology, compliance, and player acquisition costs without a B2B vendor absorbing those risks.…Product · Philippines
