Tabcorp buys BetMakers for £140m: Australian wagering consolidates
What happened
Tabcorp Holdings has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BetMakers Technology Group for £140 million. The deal ends months of market speculation. Tabcorp is Australia's dominant pari-mutuel wagering operator, holding retail and digital TAB licences across multiple states. BetMakers had been building a B2B wagering technology business, supplying platform infrastructure to racing and wagering operators across Australia and international markets.
The acquisition brings BetMakers' technology stack inside Tabcorp rather than leaving it as an independent supplier. Tabcorp framed the deal as a way to accelerate its wagering platform overhaul, particularly for horseracing.
